Foot Doctor

At University Orthopaedic Surgeons, we are committed to providing the foot and ankle care patients need to excel. We proudly serve our communities in Knoxville, Sevierville, and the surrounding areas with specialized and compassionate care from our highly trained and skilled doctors, surgeons, and staff.

When you experience pain in your ankle or foot, it can literally leave you sidelined and unable to enjoy your normal activities or keep up with responsibilities at home and at work. For athletes, a foot injury is especially unwelcome and can lead to ongoing complications. By visiting a foot doctor, you can have your foot problem diagnosed and find a treatment plan that offers lasting pain relief.

The orthopaedic foot and ankle doctors at University Orthopaedic Surgeons are focused on foot and ankle care and can deliver a wide range of treatments for some of the most common foot problems, such as:

  • Arthritis
  • Bunions
  • Deformities
  • Flat feet
  • Fractures of the foot, toe, or ankle
  • Heel pain
  • Osteochondral lesions of the talus
  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Sports-related injuries

When you visit one of our fellowship-trained foot and ankle specialists, you can first expect a thorough physical examination, which may include imaging scans. Following this, your doctor will recommend either a nonoperative form of foot care or, for serious issues, surgery. Nonsurgical treatment options may include:

  • Heat, ice, or compression therapy
  • Stretching or physical therapy
  • Medication to reduce swelling and inflammation
  • Splints, braces, or orthotic devices

Most foot issues can be addressed without the need for surgery. Some foot problems can be remedied through simple, in-office procedures. Other issues are treatable with medication. Patients requiring surgery will have various options to consider and will discuss with the doctor which surgical options are best for him or her. Our foot and ankle specialists have expertise in foot surgeries of various kinds, and our board-certified surgeons will always speak with new patients about what they can expect from the surgery and from the recovery.

Our foot doctors understand that pain can keep you from living life to the fullest. To schedule an appointment with one of our foot specialists, call (865) 546-2663 for our UT Research Park and Sevierville offices, (865) 218-9300 for our West Knoxville office, or request an appointment online.
