Hip, Joint Replacement, Joint Revision, Knee

Dr. Benjamin Kopp is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and revision. He joined University Orthopaedic Surgeons after completing advanced fellowship training in adult reconstruction surgery in 2023. As a surgeon, he is dedicated to working with patients to develop safe and effective plans so they can return to the activities that are being limited by their condition. Dr. Kopp’s expertise includes standard and complex hip and knee replacement and revision, including the latest in minimally invasive techniques like anterior hip replacement, robotic-assisted joint replacement, and partial knee replacement.

An Iowa native, Dr. Kopp graduated from The University of Iowa in Iowa City with an undergraduate degree in engineering. There, he later earned his Doctor of Medicine and Master of Business Administration degrees from The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine/Tippie College of Business. Dr. Kopp went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at The University of Texas at Austin Dell Medical School. He then was selected to an exclusive adult reconstruction fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed advanced subspecialty training in joint replacement and revision.

Dr. Kopp’s interest in orthopaedics began as an undergraduate studying implant design in biomedical engineering. He became more interested in the practical application of these principles, and he is driven to apply engineering principles to surgery to help restore patients' function and mobility. When Dr. Kopp is not seeing patients, he spends his free time running, mountain biking, doing yoga, and playing golf. He also enjoys live music.

Dr. Benjamin Kopp is available to see patients at our UT Research ParkWest Knoxville, and Sevierville locations. You can request an appointment online or call (865) 546-2663 for our UT Research Park and Sevierville offices or (865) 218-9300 for our West Knoxville office.
