W. Taylor Riden, D.O.

Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation

Dr. Taylor Riden is a fellowship-trained and board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation expert. With his years of advanced training, he joined University Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2023. Dr. Riden specializes in treating the neck, shoulder, elbow, back, hip, and knee using a range of nonsurgical treatments, including radiofrequency ablation, electromyography, and injections as well as image-guided injections using fluoroscopy and ultrasound.

Dr. Riden earned bachelor’s degrees in business administration, economics, and premedical studies from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City. Dr. Riden attended Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, Tennessee, for his master’s degree in business administration while simultaneously earning his medical degree at the Debusk College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then continued his training at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he completed an internship and physical medicine and rehabilitation residency. Following his residency, Dr. Riden dedicated an additional year of advanced training with a NASS-certified interventional spine and musculoskeletal medicine fellowship at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.

His approach to patient care is to listen, diagnose, discuss options, and build a treatment plan that aligns with the patient’s goals. Dr. Riden is committed to serving his patients through his expertise to decrease pain and restore function so that over time, they can get back to the things they enjoy doing.

A native of Morristown, Tennessee, Dr. Riden enjoys spending time with his wife, 2-year-old son, and golden retriever, hanging out with friends and family, watching UT sports (Go Vols!), playing golf, running, hiking in the Smoky Mountains, being involved in his church community, and playing guitar.
