Donna Kailey Akins, P.A.-C.
Donna (Kailey) is from the small town of Loudon, Tennessee, and has always been proud to call East Tennessee home. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology health sciences from Tennessee Tech University. During her undergrad, Kailey started her journey in the medical field while working as a patient care associate at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
After graduating she moved to Knoxville and worked in the imaging department and breast center at Parkwest Medical Center. Kailey felt her previous medical experiences helped shape her passion for working closely with patients and ensuring she is on the frontlines of quality healthcare.
She decided to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant and graduated in 2020 from South College with a Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies.
Kailey joined University Orthopaedic Surgeons in 2021 as a member of the trauma orthopaedics team where she serves patients in the ED, OR, and within the hospital.
On her days off she enjoys catching up with her friends and family, soaking up the sun on the lake, cheering on the Vols, and cuddling with her two dogs, Shiloh and Ziva.
